Citation Fiberglass Body
  • Use with the custom Berrien square tube chassis or will fit a VW Beetle chassis, shortened 14-1/2".
  • There is a 1/2" lip around the outside edge of the body that adds strength and protection to the edges.
  • Beautiful gel coat finish comes in several colors
  • Fenders are wider than the Nostalgia
  • Hardtop and Flat Side Panels are available in gel coat colors matching the body.
  • Rear of body extends over the engine.
  • The Hardtop is available with an oval rear window and 6" port hole windows in the side.
  • Available with either a T-style hood or Sport style hood.
  • A Softtop will soon be available.
  • The Dash has plenty of room for gauges and switches.
  • The Hood and Dash come glassed together
  • Uses a stock VW Beetle fuel tank
  • Molded in battery well.

Tubular Steel Chassis for Citation Body
  • Square Tubing Chassis - 2" Main Frame 1-1/2" Infrastructure
  • Body mounting holes are pre-drilled and recessed so that bolts do not protrude below the chassis
  • Any other body made for a 14-1/2" shortened floorplan will fit this chassis
  • Saves time and is an easier to assemble buggy than with stock VW floorplan
  • Brackets are installed for Pedal, Master Cylinder and Front Brake Hoses
  • Includes Emergency Brake Handle Bracket and Shift Tube Bracket with Bushing
  • Tubes are installed or included for throttle, clutch and emergency brake
  • Uses either IRS or Swingaxle Torsion, Exchange
  • Available for either Balljoint or Link/King Pin
  • More tire clearance than stock VW chassis
  • Stronger than the VW Chassis
  • Torsions are sandblasted and capped

  • Shiny black finish

  • Uses stock cables, shifter, pedals and emergency brake

PLEASE NOTE: Shipping for frames and fiberglass bodies is calculated separately and sent to the customer for approval. It is NOT included in the shipping total for your shopping cart order. If you can not take delivery at our Detroit, Michigan, USA location, shipping charges may range from $400-$1000 or more for assembled chassis. The WARRIOR Chassis Knock-down kit ships for around $125, depending on your location inside the United States.

For a fully welded chassis, there is an additional $100 core charge for the torsion assembly, assuming you do not provide us with an exchange torsion. For partially tacked chassis, there is an additional $50 charge for welding in place an optional torsion assembly, plus $125 core charge. Also, we recommend you order an IRS rear end with your chassis, since this gives you the most flexibility. Do you sell roll cages for Fiberglass Bodied buggies?
We don't have a source of roll cages for fiberglass-bodied dune buggies. If we come up with one, we'll post if on the site. Berrien has been considering building them, but they're not yet in production.
Who started making dune buggies originally?
Fiberglass dune buggies first appeared in the mid-60’s. Bruce Meyers started it all with the Meyers Manx. We have a book available, “The Dune Buggy Handbook: The A-Z of VW-Based Buggies Since 1964.
How much does it cost to ship the a Nostalgia or a Citation body?
The Citation and Nostalgia are very expensive to ship; generally over $1000.00. We recommend that anyone wishing to buy one pick it up at our facility in Detroit, Michigan.
Do you know where I can get a soft top for a Manx Style buggy?
Unfortunately we don't know of anyone making a soft top for a Manx, Nostalgia, Citation, etc. Your best bet may be to go to a boat shop and have a top custom made.
