Sway-A-Way's
new PowerBarz are offered in a wide variety of lengths and diameters to
allow selection of the right spring rate for the application. These torsion
bars are made in two grades of high quality steel. Standard torsion bars
are for recreational and high performance use. Racing torsion bars are
designed for maximum performance where maximum wheel travel is needed.
Racing bars are not painted to allow magnaflux inspection. Sway-A-Way VW
torsion bars are made from high tensile aircraft alloy steel, heat treated
to military specs and ground to a smooth finish
The
spline length on the ends has been increased to strengthen the coupling
at each end. Each bar is then painted with a baked-on powder coat finish
to prevent rust and corrosion. These heavy duty torsion bars are designed
to increase spring rate, reduce suspension bottoming out, increase roll
stiffness, reduce weight transfer and body roll, and improve ride, handling
and cornering ability.

applications for VW based cars. Note that these listings are provided here
as a starting point. Factors such as tire size, wheel offset, rear trailing
arm length, corner weights and shock absorbers will all effect the
right

Tech
Tip: When maximum angle of twist is desired, choose the longest
bar you can install. Check the spring rate chart to find equivalent spring
rates when going longer in length or when changing diameter.
