Frequently Asked Questions

Do these trailing arms have shock mounts |
Shock mounts are not included; these can easily be made with the shock bosses, #6558, that we have available.

Will stock bus axles work with 3 inches longer and 3 inch wider trailing arms? |
With 3x3 trailing arms, you will need a longer axle than the bus axle. The bus axle is 18 ¾ inches long and you would need a 19 ¼ inch axle. We have these available. You can use a 2x2 trailing arm with a bus axle.

Will these arms increase my wheel travel? |
If you use tubular trailing arms of a longer length than stock, you will increase wheel travel. You can also obtain more wheel travel by moving or removing the spring plate stop on the torsion tube. You will need to use long travel shocks, of course.

Do the 2x2 arms use stock axles? |
The 2 by 2 arms use stock length VW bus axles.

I was wondering if you had pictures of this setup on a bug? |
We have several pictures of the tubular trailing arms on various vehicles; none of them on a Baja Bug. We've had these vehicles in our shop, so we know that we work well.
